Daily Sadhana + Body Reading is a 40-hour in-person program designed for those who have already completed their initial 200-hour certificates and are looking to immerse themselves in the deep ritual of daily practice while wading into the waters of truly seeing your students.
Body Reading is how we develop a keen eye for movement and how unique bodies work through the physical demands of the yoga asana. By honing this necessary skill, we can shift from guiding and regurgitating - to listening, seeing, and truly supporting our students each time they step into our classes.
We approach the concept of “Body Reading” not as an exact science, not as a step toward correction and perfection - but as a tool to learn, troubleshoot, and support a student’s practice just as it is in this moment. Assisting students is not about standard adjustments. It’s root lays in the skill of observation and building an open knowledgeable mind.
The combination of deep practice + body reading is an intentional marriage in the course. The daily ritual of practice serves as a mirror for the student experience that we must be continually grounded in as true and skillful teachers.
This module's curriculum uses a combination of verbal acuity, kinesthetic learning, props, and hands-on support to create a personalized and empathetic adjustment experience for all.
*This course is intentionally only offered in person. Space is limited.
*Digital content is provided as a precursor to the live event.
- Personal presence in daily practice ~ Daily Sadhana includes long-form Asana, pranayama, meditation, and self-reflection
- Asana mechanics and assessments ~ How poses look vs. how they feel vs. why we should (or shouldn't) care about the difference
- The breakdown of personal proportions to better understand YOUR unique adjustment needs and those of your students
- Real-time feedback on body reading & adjustments in the form of small group work
This is a development-style course. All students are expected to be active participants in their own learning.
